Jennifer Fallon - Unofficial

  1. You’re Not Famous Until You Have Been On The Simpsons

At least that’s what they say. So check out Jennifer as a Simpson’s Character! Pretty spot on, in my opinion.

Unfortunately, Jennifer won’t be appearing on the show. Shame really.

  2. Bias Against Female Authors

by Jon Dunstan on Feb 12, 2014

Recently Jennifer hit #5 in the Fantasy Adventure Fiction list on Amazon. Where she was the only female author in the top 20. She attributed this to the fact she published under the pseudonym J.J. Fallon.

I’m a little more sceptical to the true reason it temporarily ranked so well. I believe the biggest factor would have been that The Undivided was offered for free a couple of weeks prior. What we unable to determine, is how much of a factor gender bias.

In any case, there has been some discussion recently in the writing community and Mark Lawrence has written a post on the subject gender bias and the push for female writers to use male pseudonyms.

It is a interesting read with actual evidence of female bias. Are you more likely to read a book if the author is male?

  3. Praise for Jennifer Fallon’s Writing Skills

by Jon Dunstan on Feb 10, 2014

If you’ve been wondering whether Jennifer’s recent How To Write A Bestseller series is worth reading, take a look at this review of her writing skills by TheVillageSmith (@LlMacSmith).

I love this comment, which I agree with very much.

Her writing flows in such a powerful stream from plot to sub-plot, from one complex character to another, from political intrigue to hell fire combustion, that daily life takes a backseat to her books.

  5. You sent Alaric a severed head,” Hablet accused through mouthful of broth, as Lecter arrived in response to his king’s summons. “His mother was quite upset about it.”
Lecter shrugged. “I thought he might benefit from a lesson in the dangers of acting on a whim, your highness.”
    “His mother doesn’t agree.”
“Are we paying attention to what your wives agree with now?”
Hablet shook his head. “Of course not. But I’d stay out of the harem for a while if I were you. Kabar’s brains leaked all over the parquet flooring, I hear. You’re not the most popular person in there, at the moment.
